Traveling in Winter

February 19, 2011

I’ve temporarily shutdown Demo’s Wonderland and am putting all my time and energy towards finishing my  forthcoming EP, Empty Orchestra.  I’m  hoping for an April release date and you can be sure you’ll hear about it when it’s ready.  In the meantime,  I’ll be posting  my song lyrics and pictures (some Second Life pics, some real life).  Hope you keep checking back for updates.

xoxo

Traveling in winter and the scenery scrolls by

Frozen lakes reflect boney trees and the void of a white-grey sky

And there’s no one out for miles and miles except the car you’re stuck behind

And you drive and you drive

I don’t  think I’ll make it home tonight

I don’t think I’ve been home my entire life

Everywhere just a little out-of-place and just a little bit wrong

And if I can’t work it out

Well then I just move on

And I drive

Traveling in winter and the sun is dipping low

A phantom broadcast crackles through the static on the radio

And the fading light makes ghosts of all the stranded banks of snow

And you drive and you drive

I don’t  think I’ll make it home tonight

I don’t think I’ve been home my entire life

Everywhere just a little out-of-place and just a little bit wrong

And if I can’t work it out

Well then I just move on

And I drive

Traveling in winter and the houses all have faces

I get a strange nostalgia for unfamiliar places

I pick a random driveway, walk up to the door

It’s lonely on the road and I don’t want to drive no more

I don’t  think I’ll make it home tonight

I don’t think I’ve been home my entire life

Everywhere just a little out-of-place and just a little bit wrong

And if I can’t work it out

Well then I just move on

And I drive
